Vitamin B12 is produced with the help of many microorganisms like
bacteria which is present in our digestive system. Bacteria which are
responsible for the production of vitamin B12 prevent the body from absorbing
adequate amounts of vitamins in the body.
Vitamin B12 can also be acquired through dietary sources, which
include a few animal sources that are able to produce vitamin B12 in their
digestive systems. The vitamin B12 is found less in plant sources.

- Diet, we get most of the vitamin B12 from non-vegetarian dietary sources, people who follow strict vegetarian diets are more prone to develop vitamin B12 deficiency in them. For them taking Vitamin B12 supplements is a great idea.
- Anaemia, if a person is facing problems like anaemia, he has a vitamin B12 deficiency as this is the main symptom of vitamin B12 deficiency in the body, where the person starts feeling sick and tired.
- Breastfed babies- Babies who are breastfed while their mothers are suffering from vitamin B12 deficiency may also show deficiency in Vitamin B12. It may result in serious medical issues in them.
